Mindwandering

This interesting article in Psychology Today talks about mind wondering and points out something many of us know about - but do nothing about: Most people are on auto-pilot roughly half the time they're awake and what's worse? It's making them unhappy!

The article also has some interesting things to say about mindfullness. It's a long read but a good one. We are big advocates of meditation on the Spiritual Relationships website and think it's a fantastic way to become more present.

When you're thinking about things that are not of the moment, or "mindwandering", you're not connecting to the world around you. To feel truly engaged to the people around you and feel truly connected to the world, try to feel present. To do this take time out every day to just take a few deep breaths and really focus on your breathing. Think about how you feel, what you can see, what you can hear, what you can smell and what you can taste. Really feel what your senses are telling you and enjoy being alive!
